Leading up to some kind of plot twist eventually. I thought they were going to maybe do some kind of flashbacks and the whole first person thing in the apartment. It's a shame we didn't really get to see any of that. Now she's being told hey we need your help. And then she meets UMBC forces which are literally the people she was expecting to come kill her. (which they did plan to do with Nemesis). She's afraid that they are planning on killing her to keep everything under wraps. Has been couped up in her apartment the whole time, underwatch by either Irons, Umbrella, or both, technically both anyway.
